Mixed-media production studio Strange Beast--a sister company to Passion Pictures--has just added designer, artist, and promo director Alex Turvey to its roster for representation.

Turvey has made a name for himself with his videos for Bright Eyes, Grizzly Bear, and Lilly Wood and the Prick. His distinctive aesthetic mixes live-action and animation, and featuring soft sculpture sets, characters in animal costumes, body parts made from fuzzy-felt, and glitter explosions, for an effect that's both childlike and fairytale-inspired, and ever so slightly macabre.

He also produces collage, photography, and graphics, including designing snowboards, limited-edition T-shirts for Topshop and Nike, and record covers for bands including the brilliantly named Fake Shark Real Zombie.

Turvey's work has caught the eye of the press recently, and has been featured in 'new talent' roundups in Dazed and Confused, The Independent, and Boards.

Strange Beast producer Nicola Finn says, "We are delighted to welcome Alex Turvey as a new Beast. Alex has a very individual vision and a broad range of skills from film and animation through to design and typography, which is perfectly suited to the mixed media world."

Turvey joins Strange Beast for commercial representation; Love continues to represent him for music promos.
