EVENTS: D&AD President's Lecture & Forums
D&AD has announced its D&AD President's programme of Lecture & Forums for the first part of 2007. The programme brings some of the biggest names in international advertising, interactive design, typography, branding and graphics to London, including Vince Frost, Wim Crouwel, Pentagram, and Dan Wieden + David Kennedy.

It's been three years since Vince Frost left London and made the big move to Australia. Frost* Design Sydney, his studio of 30+, has truly bridged the gap between art, commerce, design and advertising. Creative projects span TV graphics, large way finding systems, exhibition design, books and magazines.
In 2006 Vince's award-winning work was the subject of a major retrospective exhibition (Frost*bite) at the Sydney Opera House, accompanied by an inspirational book 'Frost* (sorry trees)' spanning more than a decade of work. Vince will be showing his work and discussing his influences.

How do brands and agencies communicate to people in an environmentally friendly way whilst maintaining sales? Would brands be better off spending their money on actually helping the environment and not wasting it telling people they help the environment? Whose responsibility is it to push sustainability up the corporate agenda?
Six panel members from around the world will take a look at how clients and agencies are approaching the issue of sustainability. Speakers include Juan Carlos Espinosa, Ideograma, Mexico, Russell Davies, Open Intelligence Agency, and David Hiatt, Howies.
There will be a post-lecture bar and music from 8.30pm to 10pm.

Wim Crouwel is one of The Netherlands' great design icons, typographer, graphic designer, type designer, teacher and curator. Renowned for his systematic and creative approach to the shape of letters, he continues to be an influential figure within the design community and now more than ever before young graphic designers look to his work for inspiration. Wim will be looking back at his prolific career and discussing design philosophy.

Wieden + Kennedy, the world's only independent, creatively-led global agency network, was founded in Portland, Oregon on April Fools' day 1982 by creative partners Dan Wieden and David Kennedy. For the last 25 years W+K have produced award winning creative work for an array of leading brands including their founding client Nike. A hugely successful global company, they now have offices in Portland, New York, Amsterdam, London, Tokyo and Shanghai.
Dan Wieden and David Kennedy will be discussing the germination of their success, reviewing the stand-out work from the agency's 25 year history, and talking about what the future holds.
